Ruralisation, a possible planning method to avoid impacts from reduced energy input
Folke Günther , Lund University, Sweden

To avoid the worst impacts from oil shortage, a societal stuctutre that avoids dependence on storages might be favourable. The most critical dependencies today are those of energy and nutrient (esp. phosphorus) storage. A societal structure that is using more of energy flows (sun and its derivatives) and recycling of nutrients is outlined. This put strains on transport range. A scenario ('ruralisation') that depicts a gradual change into such a society is presented ( ppt presentation ).
